Design and Manufacturing a Calibrating System for RF Hazard Meters in GSM Frequencies

چکیده

Different types of telecommunication antennas, especially BTS antennas established in residential areas, emit radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic energy. So, community concerns over the health effects from their exposure are growing. To perform hazard assessment related to radio frequency radiation both at telecommunications sites and residential areas, and also to ensure compliance with national regulations and standards, hazard survey meters, are used. These instruments should be calibrated periodically as indicated in their manuals (annually for most of them). There are different methods for this purpose. For all methods it is needed to produce a standard calibrating field. In this paper design and construction of a system for producing such a field is introduced. The measurement results are shown that the introduced system is appropriate for calibrating RF hazard meters.
